Fierce Friday! Bright Summer Eyes Tutorial

Happy Friday! I am so excited to share a makeup tutorial that is fun, bright, and perfect for summer!! I’m using the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette called Subculture, which is a follow-up to the amazingly popular Modern Renaissance Palette! Check out my blog from TUESDAY to see swatches and check out my thoughts on the palette!

Now on to the look I’m wearing above. Let’s get started!

  • For the face, you want to start with a pore minimizing primer, such as Benefit The Porefessional primer.
  • Then add your favorite foundation and concealer where you need extra coverage
  • Bronze the outer perimeters of the face with a taupey bronzer, like Physician’s Formula, Butter Bronze.
  • Add a translucent powder over your undereye concealer by using a beauty blender to tap it on. Let the powder sit and “bake” while putting on your eye makeup.
  • Prime the eyelids using Concealer or an eyelid primer.

Now onto the Subculture Palette

  • Using an all-over eyeshadow brush, pat on Dawn over the entire lid and browbone. This will really help the colors to blend out beautifully.

  • Then go in with Mercury to add depth to the crease by using a crease brush in a windshield wiper motion back and forth. Do this using a very light hand.

  • Now take a denser crease brush and pat Axis on the outer lid, softly blending in and up into the outer crease. Also blend into the lower lash-line to create a smokey effect.

  • Taking a flat shadow brush, apply Edge to the inner 2/3 of the lid and blend with a clean blending brush.

  • Now taking your pinky finger, apply Electric to the inner part of your lid, down past the tear-duct.

  • Add your favorite black liquid liner close to the top lash-line
  • Take a Teal liner and apply it to the lower waterline of your eye, to really make the colors pop.
  • Curl your lashes and add 2 coats of volumizing mascara. I used Lash Paradise from L’Oréal.
  • Remove the excess powder from under your eyes by gently sweeping away with a small powder brush.
  • Apply a rosy-pink blush to your cheeks
  • Finally add a sheer pink gloss to the lips and you are ready for anything!
